Help using MY BIN.DAY

Bin day reminders in your calendar

After you find your collection days, choose "Add to your calendar". Your bin days then appear in your calendar app, with a reminder at 6pm the evening before, and update by themselves.

It works with Apple Calendar, Outlook, Google Calendar and most other calendar apps. Google Calendar does not show reminders for subscribed calendars, but you can turn on notifications in its settings.

On a phone, Google Calendar and Outlook cannot add a calendar from a link. Add it on a computer, and it will appear on your phone too. If it does not, check the calendar is turned on in your phone app's settings.

Some workplaces turn off calendar subscriptions in Outlook. If yours does, add your bin days to a personal calendar instead.

Add MY BIN.DAY to your home screen

You can add MY BIN.DAY to your phone's home screen, so it opens like an app. If you've chosen "Remember this address", it opens straight to your bin days.

  • on an iPhone or iPad, open this site in Safari, tap the share button, then "Add to Home Screen"
  • on Android, open this site in Chrome, tap the menu, then "Add to home screen" or "Install app"

Remember your address

On your collection days page, choose "Remember this address". The home page will then link straight to your bin days. It is only saved in your browser, and you can forget it at any time.

If your bin was not collected

Your collection days page shows recent collections, so you can check when your bin was due. To report a missed collection, contact your council: your collection days page links to its website.
