Cheltenham Borough Council collects:

From the collections we've found for homes in Cheltenham. Your street may have a different mix of bins.

Under the government's Simpler Recycling rules, councils in England collect these from homes:

Paper and card: newspapers, magazines, envelopes and cardboard boxes
Plastic: bottles, pots, tubs and trays
Metal: drinks cans, food tins, clean foil and empty aerosols
Glass: bottles and jars
Cartons: food and drinks cartons, like juice and soup cartons
Food waste: all food, cooked or raw, including peelings, bones, tea bags and coffee grounds, collected every week

Plastic bags and wrapping will be added by 31 March 2027. Some councils are still bringing in some of these collections.

Which bin each one goes in depends on your council. Check Cheltenham Borough Council's website, or use the Recycle Now Recycling Locator.
